You must be 18 or older to use Section Ledger. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement. This restriction was a deliberate choice, not an oversight: Section Ledger is a crowdsourced, user-generated-content product with no feasible way for a single developer to build and maintain a parental-consent flow for minor accounts, so the app restricts to adults rather than attempt consent handling it can't properly support.
Section Ledger applies a content filter at the time content is posted, and any member can report a deadline or comment as inappropriate, harassment, spam, or not a real deadline. Content reported by two or more different members is automatically hidden pending review. A moderator reviews it — within 24 hours — and either restores it or removes it permanently. Removal is not reversible once confirmed.
You can also block a specific member's content from your own view at any time; this only changes what you see and does not remove content for anyone else.
Deadlines and comments you add belong to the section, not to you individually — other members rely on them once posted. If you delete your account, your content stays in the section but is no longer linked to your identity. Full detail in the privacy policy.
Whether you've marked a deadline started or finished is never shown to any other member individually — only as an anonymized count across the whole section, and only once the section has 5 or more members. This is a core design commitment, not a setting you or anyone else can change.
Section Ledger is provided as-is, built and maintained by a single developer. Deadline information is crowdsourced from other students — verify anything that actually matters against your syllabus or instructor. Section Ledger is not responsible for missed deadlines, whoever added or amended them.
If these terms change materially, you'll be notified in-app before the change takes effect.
